PANCHERO’S - CHICKEN BURRITO
Hoping to make up for my horrible “Mexican” experience yesterday, I decided to check out a local spot called Panchero’s that a dude named Nick suggested to me via email.  Panchero’s is a local burrito and taco chain located in Iowa, and the one I went to happened to be the original restaurant.
I have actually been here before, years ago, and rather enjoyed my vegetarian burrito.  Since I am no longer vegetarian, I decided to go with a chicken burrito.  The woman who made my burrito was not very pleasant, and as I was ordering, I misheard her ask “for here or to go” and she snapped back at me like I was her kid and I had spilled my mountain dew on her new rug.  This is after she ignored my original order because she was too busy staring out the window at the Chipotle that sits directly across the street.  Great start.
Sorry Nick, but I didn’t really enjoy my burrito from here.  This place reminded me of a less colorful Moe’s with exactly the same food.  The chicken was bland and dry, the rice puffy and there was hardly any cheese.  I did however like that they pressed and cooked the tortilla in front of me.  The other positive is that before they wrap up your burrito they mix all the ingredients together which is something I wish more burrito joints would do.  It wasn’t a great burrito, but at least every bite had all the same ingredients in it.
