HOUSE OF BLUES - SHRIMP PO’BOY
I was really excited to go to Chicago. I had a couple places in mind that I wanted to try out, but other obligations negated those possibilities. I woke up late and had to eat something quickly, so I decided to just go to the closest place I knew of. That place was the House Of Blues.
I’ve gone to the HOB restaurant many times over the years and tried many different items. My favorite of these is the Shrimp Po’Boy. A good handful of shrimp, battered and fried on top of a fresh long roll with tomatoes, lettuce and a spicy tartar sauce. They are usually pretty consistent. This one was no different.
The shrimp were great and the tartar sauce added a necessary kick. It just seemed that the tartar sauce was not evenly distributed, leaving the first half of the sandwich devoid of heat and flavor, while the last couple bites sent me asking for a refill of my iced tea.
This is something I’ll keep on ordering. The misapplication of the condiments was not enough to make me take this off of my go-to menu.
